Student N95 Mask Distribution - Spring 2022
As an additional level of protection, the university is recommending that all students wear an N95 mask, a KN95 mask, or a Level 3 surgical mask.

The university is providing ONE (1) N95 mask to each student. If you are a student, you can pick up your free mask starting on January 13 at the following locations (list may be updated as semester begins):

  • Residence Halls (distributed in your mailbox)
  • Private Certified Housing (front desks)
  • Cultural Centers (front desks)
  • Illini Union Bookstore (registers and 2nd floor textbook pick up)
  • Illini Union Quad Shop (8am-7pm)
  • Illini Union Starbucks (7-11pm starting on Jan.  18)
  • Sidney Lu Mechanical Engineering Starbucks (after Jan. 17)
  • Jitters Cafe at College of Law (after Jan. 24)
  • Turner Student Services Building
  • Vet Med (vet students only)

You will be asked if you are a student and if you have already received a mask. Remember, all students in residence halls will get them there - no need to go to any location to pick them up. It is always a good idea to have your i-card with you or the App available, but you can get the mask without them.

If you are an employee, your free mask is being distributed through your unit - these locations are ONLY for STUDENTS.

To see more information about these types of masks and their usable life, see this page on the CDC website.
